All about the Youth Summer Running Program.
Join weekly training sessions with professional coaches to become a better runner!
Who is this program for?
We are offering this program for all athletes ages 11-15. All levels welcome!
When:
9 week program last week of May 27th- Aug 2nd (no sessions 4th of July week)
2 sessions a week 8:30-9:45am, every Tuesday and Thursday plus 1-2 Saturday sessions a month on the trails!
What:
- A variety of sessions that include interval training, trail running, speed work, strength and conditioning and of course some fun and games mixed in!
- Professional coaches with over 20 years of experience with degrees in exercise science and sports performance working with athletes of all types and ages from Olympians, professional football players to beginner runners.
- Communication via email and a Whatsapp channel parents and students can join
- Weekly “homework” for students to complete on their own or with family and friends (runs, drills and strength workout outside of our sessions)
Where: *Not every session is in the same location
- Little salt wash park
- Fruita Middle school or 8/9 school
- Snooks bottom
- Devils canyon (for trail running 1-2x a month, parents welcome to join!)
Why run with us?
You are getting the benefit of working with highly educated and experienced coaches in a small group setting for such a small investment. Your athletes will come out of this program with knowledge about sports nutrition, biomechanics, injury prevention, training for performance, mental toughness and so much more!
What do the sessions entail?
During the sessions we will do a guided athletic warm-up, drills to improve agility, running mechanics/technique ,speed and endurance. We aim to make running fun so we will always include fun games that involve running like captor the flag, tag, sharks and minows, frisbee others we played as children.
Without knowing it most kids will end up with 2-3 miles of running over the course of each session!
Trail running sessions will include education on safety, wildlife, etiquette and sustainability.
Each week will build upon the last as we begin with run/walk intervals and work up to a 4-5 mile trail run by the end of the summer.

- To build endurance to prepare youth for any sport (or lifelong active habit creation)

- Learn important life skills: confidence, mental toughness
- Gain fitness, learn skills and make new friends!
Fee:
$159
The program is priced keeping in mind kids will not be able to attend every session.
This breaks down to less than $8 a session to work with professional coaches!

Back for year two, our summer running program was a hit and we had to bring it back. Getting kids outside to train to build endurance, speed, confidence, and mental toughness through our unique approach that mixes modern training with play is our passion!


All about the Youth Multi-sport skills camp.
Kids 6-10 are invited to join Out West Training and their lifelong performance coaches for a unique week of skills and drills.
The four day camp will focus on a different sport(or two) every day. We will be teaching the fundamental skills and movements for each sport along with lots of fun and light competition. The young athletes do not need competence in any sport to join us.
Research has long shown that multi-sport athletes excel in sport plus, it’s just fun to learn new things!
Day One: Basketball
Skills: Passing, dribbling, and shooting
Drills: Agility, jumping, and spacial awareness.
Day Two: Baseball/softball
Skills: Hitting, throwing, fielding (no glove needed)
Drills: Hand-eye coordination, lateral movement, rotational strength and movement
Day Three: Football/soccer
Skills: Throwing, catching on the run, kicking, dribbling
Drills: Speed and acceleration, spacial awareness, running form
Day four: Golf/ paddlesports(pickleball/badminton)
Skills: Hand eye coordination, game play, lateral movement
Drills: putting, chipping, hitting over the net, etc
Dates: June 2-5 from 9:30-11am
Cost is $135 through May 15th then $150 through June 1.
**Can’t make the June dates? We will be hosting the same camp July 21-24 from 9:30-11am

Multi-sport Skills Camp.
This four day camp will be offered twice this summer. June 2-5 and July 21-24. Teaching the younger kids how to move their body for different sports and practicing some of the basic skills of those sports is the primary goal of this fun filled week for the kids 6-10.
