What is Out West Training?

Out West Training or OWT is Grand Valley’s newest facility for fitness, fun, performance and community.  Our group fitness programs are for active minded individuals of all ages and abilities with an emphasis on training for play whether it be on the field or court, in the woods, on the course or keeping up with your kids and grandchildren.

Ongoing programs

Youth training programs

Youth sports and performance training.

We train our young athletes based on age appropriate and sports specific training methods to teach them how to move better, faster, and more explosively. The focus for the younger athletes (6-12) is to create good movement patterns, coordination, and to make the training fun. For the older athletes, we aim to build durable, strong, powerful athletes for whatever sport they are playing to match skill on the field and court with the athleticism needed to be the best!

My daughter and I tried Out West ‘s 5am group fitness class this morning. Scott and Lauren had a really fun and challenging workout for the group. We’re beginners. Lauren was leading the workout and was very patient with us and worked with us to learn the exercises that we were unfamiliar with. The gym is really nice, clean, and well laid out. We really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it to anyone, regardless of your current fitness level. This gym is a really great addition to our community. Thanks Out West!

Thankfully this gym opened at the same time as I was ready to start exercising after a recent injury. The coaches have been wonderful, helping me modify the exercises as needed but also pushing me to ensure that I get back in shape. The gym is very open and welcoming. Go attend a class you might be sore, but I doubt you will be sorry!

Training philosophy:

“Train Relentlessly, Perform Fearlessly, Live Purposefully.”

I believe in building athletes who are not only physically strong but also mentally tough. When it comes to my coaching style I believe in intensity and pushing athletes to the limits while at the same time encouraging them to unlock their full potential.

Success isn’t given—it’s earned through hard work, discipline, and belief in the process.

I know firsthand what it means to overlook training and the consequences that come with it.

My mission is to guide athletes beyond just performance—it’s also to teach them accountability, resilience, and a mindset that translates to success in both sports and life. The lessons learned in training should shape them into not just better athletes, but better individuals.
